BOOK GIVEAWAY!
My Friday Friend this week is fellow writer, JAN ELDER. It’s an exciting day for Jan as it’s the release day for her new book, A SEMI-SWEET SUMMER. Jan’s an inspirational romance writer with a passion for telling stories other women can relate to on a deep level. She strives to write the kind of book that will strengthen the reader’s faith, introducing the reader to a loving and forgiving Lord who walks beside us in our daily lives, while also providing an entertaining and engrossing love story.
Happily married for fourteen years to loving (and supportive) husband, Steve, the two live in central Maryland along with Jamie (a chubby black and white tuxedo cat), and Shu-Shu (a willowy tortoiseshell cat). On the weekends, Jan and Steve comb the nearby countryside in search of the perfect ice cream flavor.
Her new book, A SEMI-SWEET SUMMER, releases today! And she’s been gracious enough to do a book giveaway. If you’d like an e-book copy of Semi-Sweet Summer, be sure to leave a comment on the post. Winner will be picked on August 25!
Here’s the blurb:
Cassidy Cooper never wanted to set foot in Crystal Falls again. Ten years earlier, she’d given her heart to a boy who’d, in turn, humiliated her deeply. Now, back in town as the sole beneficiary of her sister’s estate, she’s determined to make her sister’s dream of an upscale chocolate truffle shop, come true.
Hunter Gray is very intrigued by his new neighbor. His escape artist cow, Marigold, engineers an introduction…but it’s not quite the first impression he was hoping for. Baffled by the nagging suspicion he’s seen this woman before, he plots to win Cassidy’s heart at every opportunity.
With the object of her unrequited love living within shouting distance, Cassidy prays for strength to forgive and forget. And Hunter? He just wants to get back to his own dream to grow his farm and get to know the pretty girl next door. If she’ll let him.
Sounds like a good read, Jan. Thanks for being my Friday Friend. If you’d like to learn more about Jan and her books, visit her

God Bless & Good Reading!
Jan, I love when I can see the conflict in the story from the blurb. Quite intriguing with their history, with also another favorite of mine, chocolate truffles. Thanks for stopping by Tiaras and Tennis Shoes and offering your book.
Thanks, Pamela. Yeah, that blurb is all-important and a hard thing to write. Saturday was my birthday and my dear, sweet husband bought me chocolate truffles from the same shop where I “researched” the story. If you want to check out the beautiful (and I do mean BEAUTIFUL) truffles, go to http://theperfecttruffle.com/ – Blessings, Jan
This book sounds like a great one! Thanks for the giveaway.
Thanks for checking in, Donna! I truly enjoyed writing this one. Researching chocolate truffles (I have one in front of my right at this very moment) was fun too! -Jan
I’m always happy to try a new to me author and a new book!
Thanks so much, Joan. It was a great deal of fun to write. “Researching” those chocolate truffles was such hard work, though. Blessings, Jan
Sounds like a good summer read! I love finding new inspirational authors on the internet. God bless you in your writing!
Thank you, Carol. Been writing since I turned 50 eight years ago (SSS is my sixth book). So, never too late to learn! Blessings, Jan
I am always looking for a good book to read and a new to me author. Thanks for the recommendation.
Thanks for reading about SSS. This one is is close to my heart because there’s a lot of me in the book. Blessings, Jan
Awesome new-to-me author! I love the sound of this, reunion stories are my favorite! Bring introduced, or reintroduced if you will, by a cow makes me want to read it even more 🙂
Thank you for the giveaway chance!
That should read “being introduced” NOT ” bring introduced” I really dislike autocorrect!!
Awesome new-to-me author!! The books sounds wonderful, I love reunion stories. Being introduced by a cow (or reintroduced, if you will) , now that just makes me want to read it even more! 🙂
Thank you for the giveaway chance.
HI Trixi, Yeah, don’t you just hate auto-correct? Thanks for checking in. This book has a lot of me in the heroine, so it’s especially close to my heart. Blessings, Jan
Sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm with my readers!
Thanks for having me on your blog today, Carol!!! -Jan
I loved, loved, LOVED this book!!! I was blessed to read an ARC copy, and I laughed again at parts of it, while writing my review. It was so much fun to read!! I will just share one fun line: “You can put the pan down now. Or was your plan to saute any intruders?”
So much fun to read!!!!!
Aw, Becky, you’re very sweet. I try to inject some humor into all my books. I also liked the saute line. Made me smile when I wrote it. Grin. Blessings, and thanks or reading, Jan
