Regina Smeltzer loves the unusual, the unexpected, and ALWAYS cheers for the underdog! Her favorite experiences include riding a runaway camel in Egypt and catching Camen in the Amazon and holding a snake-charmer’s python. Her biggest adventure was marrying a career military man and raising four children. Now five grandchildren hold her heart.  Regina writes:

I wrote my first story in grade school (Akron, Ohio), and had my first short story published at age fifteen. During my busy motherhood and nursing career years, my writing included developing protocols, writing grants, and creating workshops, as well as creating puppet shows for VBS, and providing holiday dramas for my church.

I moved from Ohio to Darlington, South Carolina in 2006, took an assistant professor position at Francis Marion University and also began teaching online as an adjunct for Indiana Wesleyan University. I love speaking to groups about my faith, my life’s challenges, and my writing journey. I currently have three novels published by Pelican Book Group, Deadly Decision, Retribution, and Light of Logan and one novella, Christmas in East Kansas.

East Kansas is the picture postcard of Christmas with the mountain peaks, wreath-covered storefronts and holiday music streaming into the streets. During the holiday season, ice skating on Miller Pond is the main social outlet for the town. A new road through the mountains will ease the town’s economic struggle, but will destroy the pond which is fiercely protected by Olivia Miller. Even though Olivia hates Thomas Baker, the man hired to build the road and destroy her family’s legacy, she also finds herself unexplainably drawn to him.

Thomas Baker plans to spend another Christmas alone until he is offered a chance to supervise the construction of a new road. His excitement fades when he finds out the job is in East Kansas, the one place he swore to never return to. Besides avoiding the man who lives there, Thomas must protect his heart against the young girl who stole it 15 years ago.

Just as Olivia and Thomas begin to kindle a relationship, history between their two families surfaces. The past threatens to kill both their futures as well as the road. Will this be the last Christmas for East Kansas?

A Christmas miracle is needed in East Kansas.

Christmas Passed by Anita Klumpers (DAY 9)

On the 9th day of the 12 Days’ of Christmas Giveaway, my true love gave to me 9 ladies dancing and…

A FREE copy of DEVOTIONS FROM PUZZLE HOUSE. It’s FREE today on Amazon so be sure to get it today! AMAZON LINK

Keep reading so you don’t miss out on entering for today’s giveaway!

Anita Klumpers is Midwest born and bred, except for a brief and exhilarating few years in Denver when she was small. She received a teaching degree sometime in the previous millennium and used it mostly to homeschool her three sons. These days Anita chases her grandchildren around, waving books at them and suggesting everyone cuddle up for a good story.

Good stories are her passion, especially if they are well-written, have a dose of humor, just a tickle of romance, and a decidedly non-gory mystery. On the other hand, she lists “Frankenstein” and “Fahrenheit 451” as two of her favorite books. Go figure. Creating skits was Anita’s first foray into writing. Always up for a challenge and a reason to postpone defrosting the freezer, she tried her hand at a full-length novel. It only took five years, but she did it!

Daily (honestly) she marvels at how much she loves coffee and her husband; her family, friends and church. Even more, she is astonished at how much she is loved by her Lord and Savior.  Her blog is “The Tuesday Prude” ( https://thetuesdayprude.com/) and she’s had two books published by Pelican/Prism Books (“Winter Watch” and “Hounded.”)

“Christmas Passed” is part of  Pelican’s Christmas Extravaganza.

Blurb:

Dinah loves Christmas. She loves history, the old Wagner House, and the elderly women working to preserve its heritage. She loves almost everything except Mick Wagner, her childhood nemesis.

But if they want to save the Wagner House and solve a mystery that’s been hiding in the attic for almost eighty years, they’ll have to join forces. And they have to do it quickly, before one of them dies trying.

A CHRISTMAS STOLEN is part of my publisher’s Christmas Extravaganza! Every year, she releases new Christmas-themed novellas in a variety of genres. If you go to Amazon and type in Christmas Extravaganza, you’ll find lots of great Christmas stories to read in your favorite genre. So here’s a little about A CHRISTMAS STOLEN:

Christmas is the best time of the year until evil comes knocking.

Danica Jordan is looking forward to her first Christmas with her newborn niece in spite of being back home. Unlike most people, her hometown doesn’t hold a special place in her heart.

When she arrives home, she finds an open door and an empty crib. She discovers her sister asleep in her bedroom. Panic sets in when the two sisters realize Baby Angelica’s been abducted.

With the baby abducted and Christmas stolen, Danica must put aside her own feelings to search for her precious niece. As the investigation proceeds, Danica comes face to face with the two men who ruined her life.

She comes to understand that Christmas isn’t a thing but a symbol of God’s love and can never be stolen—no matter the circumstances.

Every year my publisher (Pelican Book Group) gets in the spirit of Christmas by having A CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA. This year is no exception. So what’s A Christmas Extravaganza? There’s books in a variety of genres so there’s something for everyone!

If you go to Amazon then type in Christmas Extravaganza, an assortment of books will come up. It’s a great way to find new authors who love Christmas and Jesus!

Here’s a sample of what you can find if you type in CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA on Amazon:

A CHRISTMAS STOLEN by Lillian Duncan–Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year…until evil comes knocking. AMAZON LINK

NO HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS by Lillian Duncan–She can’t ever go home for the holidays–if she wants to stay alive!  AMAZON LINK

THE CHRISTMAS STALKING by Lillian Duncan–Life isn’t all glitz and glamour for country music star, Destiny; someone wants her dead! AMAZON LINK

NoHomeForTheHolidays_h12199_120

My latest book will be releasing today. Like me, it’s sweet and short–okay not so sweet. It’s filled with heart-pounding suspense, but it is short. NO HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY is a novella, meaning short novel. But don’t worry, you don’t get cheated. Because novellas are short, that means there’s action on every page!

Here’s what others are saying about No Home For The Holidays:

No Home for the Holidays is like curling up with a special cup of coffee and a pumpkin muffin–a warm break for a cool day. Enjoy this quick, feel-good read soon! No Home for the Holidays has winter’s glow mixed with suspense and like-able characters–a great read for the season!

–Linda Rondante, author of Looking For Justice

Not your average Christmas story, but the Gospel message still comes through. No Home for the Holidays is the perfect, quick read for the busy Christmas holidays.

– Ruth O’Neil, author of the What a Difference a Year Makes series.

“Lillian Duncan has done it again…. Penned yet another story which grabs the reader and speeds him along a road of story twists and turns.  With a background of Christmas touches, “No Home For the Holidays”  is a quick, suspenseful read with characters who make you care—from hiding secrets to finding  each other’s hearts– under God’s loving gaze.”

—Robin Bayne, author of the Gardner’s Gazebo series:  Prodigal, Samaritan and Christmas Pearl

This utterly absorbing story begins when a preacher’s path crosses that of a frightened woman who is in the midst of a desperate situation. There are engrossing twists and turns throughout and the mesmerizing suspense easily captured my interest. It was gratifying to discover the couple’s relationship with God along the way and to enjoy the thrilling ending.

— Nadine Hapaz, author of My Lord and I: Poems of Faith and Spirituality in Everyday Life

Lillian Duncan has outdone herself. “No Home For The Holidays” is a fast read but so enjoyable, I was sad when it ended. I loved the main characters, Chloe, and Colton, one a pastor on fire for His Lord and determined to remain celibate for the rest of his life, and Chloe is hiding from a past, her family, and equally determined to trust no one.

–Barbara Ann Derksen, author of Shadow Stalker

To celebrate the release, I’m giving away Amazon Gift Cards! Five lucky winners will receive $10 Gift cards. Be sure to leave a comment and you’ll be entered! That’s all there is to it. So don’t forget to leave a comment!

UNTIL NEXT TIME…GOD BLESS & GOOD READING!

Here’s the blurb for No Home For The Holidays:

Unlike the Prodigal Son, Chloe Sullivan knows she can’t go home for the Christmas holidays or ever—not if she wants to stay alive.

She’s resigned to the fact she must stay in hiding to keep herself and her family safe. Lonely and desperate for God’s presence, she’s drawn to a nearby church.

Ex-FBI agent turned preacher, Colton Douglas, mistakenly identifies Chloe as the person breaking into local churches. A midnight chase ensues that ends with him snapping her photo. When the photo goes public he learns more about the mystery woman than he bargained for. . .

And that changes everything!
